Fasching Celebration in Johnsonville, WI
Sunday, February 20, 2011
"Fasching" is a pre-Lenten celebration that corresponds with the great Mardi Gras celebration in
New Orleans. Many cultures of the world that enjoy pre-Lenten revelry go to elaborate lengths of
costuming and celebrating. The "Fasching" focuses on a wonderful dinner, entertainment, and the
ambiance of the evening. In Johnsonville, we gather for dinner and entertainment by Dorf Kapelle.
The dinner menu includes smoked pork chops, goulash, German potato salad, mashed potatoes, sweet
and sour red cabbage, mixed vegetables, Black Forest chocolate cake, and beverage.
The entertainment, "Dorf Kapelle's Great Sing-Along" under the direction of Ernie Broenemann, is
composed of approximately 18 musicians and vocalists, and patterns itself after the German
"blasmusik" brass bands. Their library includes all your musical favorites, including polkas,
waltzes, schottisches, marches, and light classics.
Includes:
